There are many beautiful villages and orchards dotting the townscape. Village walks and ‘a-meal-in-the-village’ organised by TGI have gained immense popularity among the corporates and schools in recent times. So villagers can also be made stakeholders in the development of Junga as an eco-friendly tourist destination.

Apple, Plum and Kiwi orchards make this walk unique and enjoyable. Passing though the creeks within the village further makes this walk more attractive and inclusive.

The Kings of Kyonthal built a marvel of architecture-the King’s Palace at Junga. The crafting on wood, pillars and its foundation, the size of the main gate etc makes it a unique and amazing possession of ruins of rich architecture and heritage.

The town has a lot to show up for heritage. There is a 600 years old but decrepit palace of the erstwhile King of Junga in serious need of restoration. Once restored, it will make a fascinating site. Even now, as it is, a discerning eye will not fail to notice its beauty. There is a very famous temple right outside the palace and the heritage building adjacent to the palace could well be a royal heritage hotel. Relatively modern architecture of the New Palace makes it no less appealing. It is a two story structure with wooden beams and pillars. The wood carvings are as intricate as they are amazing. The walls of the lounge and corridor are embellished with sepia and B/W portraits of the erstwhile royalty in all its regalia. Rare artefacts and antiques galore in the New Palace. The collection of rare books is a collector’s delight. There is a huge cache of ancient weapons & armour including bejewelled swords and muskets.
